A forthcoming pair of Motorola RAZR phones will be exclusive to Telstra when they arrive in Australia during the next few months.

Scheduled for release in Australia during the fourth quarter of 2012, the Motorola RAZR M (shown above) and RAZR HD are both Android-base smartphones.

Battery life is the selling point for the RAZR HD.

Motorola officials claim one charge is good for 10 hours of video on the 4.7in display, six hours of web browsing, or six hours of voice-guided turn-by-turn GPS navigation.

The RAZR M uses a more compact 4.3in display that extends practically from edge to edge.

Motorola officials claim the RAZR M is smaller than an iPhone 4S, yet has a 40% bigger screen.

Features common to both models include Gorilla Glass displays, and Kevlar cases with splash-guard coatings.

Both models are being manufactured with black and white shells, though it has yet to be announced if there will be a choice of colours in Australia.

Nor is it completely clear which version of Android will be installed: Motorola's announcement referred to "Android 4.0.4, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Android 4.1, Jelly Bean, upgradeable".

Prices have yet to be announced, but potential buyers are invited to register their interest with Telstra.
