Although “final” production of iPhone 5 models has not yet started, an online report claims “exclusive” confirmation of key iPhone 5 elements, including the heavily anticipated 4G LTE capability.

I don’t know about you, but I love a good iPhone rumour.

Of course, there are rude and crude sour-pusses out there without “level”-heads who like to come to iPhone 5 articles, then complain bitterly about iPhone 5 articles, which only brings to question why they bother wasting their time in visiting articles about subjects they hate.

But you, dear reader, are here because the iPhone 5 will soon be alive, and you want to know more about the last iPhone Steve Jobs is said to have been deeply involved in creating.

Now comes an interesting “exclusive” from the geniuses at the Boy Genius Report over components we expect to see in Apple’s next super smartphone.

Although some reports have suggested that the iPhone 5 is “already in production”, BGR explains its “trusted source” says reality is a little different.

It turns out that the iPhone 5 models “in production” are still “engineering test models” and not the FINAL iPhone 5 model itself, one which won’t go into production until later in the US summer, which means later in the Australian winter.

This also causes BGR to effectively pour cold water over claims the iPhoen 5 will have an August unveiling, with BGR instead suggesting that the originally expected dates of September or October are far more likely.

However, BGR’s “source” has also “confirmed” long held iPhone 5 spec expectations – namely 1GB of RAM, which is double that of the iPhone 4S’ 512MB, an NFC chip for wireless payments, and the intensely expected 4G LTE capabilities.

We don’t sadly know whether the 4G LTE chips will work on a global basis, which means outside of the US and Canada and in places like Australia, Asia and Europe – but we can certainly hope and pray that is the case.

We also hope that Apple is able to pull more of its battery magic, thus ensuring decent battery life despite the expected 4-inch screen, power-draining 4G and quad-core processors and more.

So… while the world still awaits an official invitation announcement from Apple for a new product launch, be it in August, September or October… the iPhone 5 is coming, and if you haven’t already purchased one of Samsung’s rather excellent Galaxy SIII smartphones on the Android side of the force fence, the anticipation, expectation and desire for Apple’s iNew still burns hot for many!
