In addition, it has been said that it’s better to “cannibalise yourself” than have someone else do it to you, but with the extreme popularity of the 9.7-inch iPad, a 7 to 8-inch or 7.85-inch iPad Mini is expected to massively enlarge the iDevice pie, not split the same size pie into smaller slices as new devices emerge onto the iMarket.
So, all that has to happen now is that Apple needs to release this mythical iPad Mini, whether in 8, 16, 32 or 64GB configurations, or even larger at 128GB, whether in black or white, or back to the multiple colours seen with iPod minis and the first iMacs.
That would certainly make the market and consumers stand up and notice, while mimicking the successful style of those previous iPod mini launches.
Or, Apple could decide it has teased the world enough yet again with unfulfilled anticipation and desire for a 7 to 8-inch iPad model, and make us all wait until 2013 for such a device to emerge.
It’s just that it seems a perfect time for Apple to launch such a massively “mini” assault on the tablet market.

If so, Apple would surely once again take mountainous market share and making 2012 the biggest and most iProfitable season yet, even if it looks set to do so even if an iPad Mini isn’t in the picture.
But it’s Apple we’re talking about, and rumours of things that may or may not be, no matter how much we all might collectively want to wish them into existence.
iExpect and iUnexpect, but whatever happens, iCertainly hope the iPad Mini is real – and that the expected 4-inch (or better) LTE/4G iPhone 5 is too!
