The new Hyundai i30 is the latest car on the Australian market to include live traffic information from SUNA on its satnav system.

SUNA provides live information about traffic congestion and other road conditions. The data is broadcast piggybacked on commercial radio transmissions, and is decoded by a growing number of built-in and aftermarket GPS navigation systems.

The latest car on the Australian market to feature SUNA as standard is the new generation Hyundai i30. Satnav with SUNA is standard equipment on the Elite and Premium models.

"Like its predecessor, the new generation i30 is sure to be one of the most popular small cars sold in Australia, renowned for its high quality and high standard specification, which we are proud to say includes SUNA Traffic Channel," said Adam Game, CEO of Intelematics Australia, the operator of SUNA.

"As more motorists gain access to live traffic updates, it will lead to an improvement in driving conditions as motorists stay clear of congested areas, enabling the slow moving traffic to return to normal conditions faster."

Andrew Tuitahi, product planning manager at Hyundai Motor Company Australia said "The new generation i30 offers great value to customers with the addition of several new features, including a 7in touchscreen satellite navigation system with SUNA Live Traffic Updates on mid and high trim models. Integrated real-time traffic information will improve the driving experience for our i30 customers by providing them with the information they need to get to their destination without any unexpected delays."

SUNA Traffic Channel is available in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The data is also available to service providers via the Internet.
