vividwireless cuts device prices, offers startup credits

WiMAX network operator vividwireless has responded to increasing competition from mobile network operators' broadband data services by cutting prices for its access devices and offering customers credit when they sign up and cutting prices for its wireless broadband devices.

Customers buying a device from a retail store and signing up online to an eligible 12 or 24 month fixed term contract will now receive credit equal to the purchase price of their access device. The price of the home gateway has been reduced by $50 to $249 and the price of the ViViFi Wi-Fi hotspot (C900W) by $30 to $99.

The earlier model ViViFi Wi-Fi hotspot (C600W) is also available on the same plans for $59, with $59 in credit. A USB modem costs $49, with $49 credit applied to the account.
