Lexar goes 1000x for CF

Your IT - Mobility

Feeling the need for speed when shooting digital video or rapid-fire still photos? Lexar has announced the first 1000x CompactFlash cards.

Not satisfied with offering the first 256GB CompactFlash card, Lexar has now announced what it claims to be the first 1000x memory card.

Lexar Pro_1000x

The Lexar Professional 1000x CompactFlash card will be offered in 16, 32, 64 and 128GB versions with a guaranteed minimum sustained read speed of 150MBps. The cards are also guaranteed to handle video capture up to 20MBps (Video Performance Guarantee VPG-20) with no dropped frames.

"Professional photographers who shoot both photos and video look to Lexar for storage solutions that will enhance their digital workflow and remove the obstacles that stand in the way of the creative process," said Manisha Sharma, Lexar's director of product marketing for cards.

"The Lexar Professional 1000x CF card offers some of the best performance available, not only for use in-camera, but also when moving images and video from the card to a computer for editing and processing. Our goal is to allow shooters to focus on capturing great shots, including high-resolution images and HD or 3D video, instead of wasting precious time processing in the studio."

Like other Lexar Professional cards, the new devices come with a copy of Image Rescue to help recover images after accidental deletion or corruption.

Prices range from $169.99 for 16GB to $899.99 for 128GB. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in February.
