Kingston squeezes 16GB into tiny DataTraveller Micro

Your IT - Mobility

Want a flash drive that you can leave plugged in permanently? Kingston's DataTraveler Micro may fit the bill.

'Thumb drive' is very descriptive as the typical unit is about as long as an adult's thumb. That's compact compared with a portable hard drive, but too big to leave plugged in when transporting the notebook or other device.

That's where Kingston's DataTraveler Micro comes in. Measuring just 25.6 x 16.7 x 8.4mm, it protrudes by a little over 1cm when plugged into a device and therefore can usually be left in place when the notebook is slid into a case. And at 4g, you wouldn't notice the extra weight.

It's available in two models, 8GB for $11 or 16GB for $18.
