Telstra mobile customers can put BlackBerry app purchases on their Telstra bill.

Telstra is offering its BlackBerry users the ability to purchase apps from BlackBerry App World and charge the purchases directly to their monthly Telstra Mobile bill.

The facility is also available for payments from within previously downloaded applications, for example, purchasing additional features for an app or levels in a game Telstra claims to be the first carrier in Australia to offer this payment option.

To use the option customers much log into the BlackBerry App World and change their default payment option to select 'Bill Through Telstra'.

Adele Beachley, managing director for RIM Australia, said: 'BlackBerry App World sees over four million downloads a day." However this is the global figure: RIM declined to provide information on how many downloads Australian users make, how many Telstra customers make, or how many require payment.
