Call quality is not the best. Previously around the Parramatta area on the Vodafone network, I joked that my old iPhone 3 was great for everything except as a phone. Where before I would be in a black spot or weak reception, I can now make calls, the call quality (especially mobile to mobile) is poor (especially when I called the person back on my Telstra HTC, the clarity of the call was a noticeable improvement compared to the previous VHA call).

Looking at the VHA website, there is a lot of work being done in regards to phone towers (2G/3G) around my area. The improvements already are noticeable; however it turns a shockingly bad connection to pretty awful.

I do recommend the Samsung Galaxy S II as a phone. If you are a Vodafone customer, there are some attractive plans out there for upgrades. The Galaxy S II is also available on Optus and Telstra.
