Firmware update brings more LaserJets into the ePrint fold

Your IT - Mobility

HP has delivered additional remote and wireless printing capabilities to selected laser printers and multifunction devices.

Many of HP's recent printers and MFDs have included connectivity features such as ePrint (print via email), Wireless Direct (walk-up peer-to-peer wireless printing), and AirPrint (driverless printing from iOS devices).

The range of printers supporting these features has been increased thanks to firmware updates for certain LaserJet Pro models.

The CP1025nw, M1217nfw, P1102/1102w series, P1560/P1600 series, and 175nw all gain ePrint and AirPrint support, while the CP1025nw and M1217nfw also get the Wireless Direct functionality.

The update also provides compatibility with the HP Printer Control app for iOS, the HP ePrint app for BlackBerry, and the HP ePrint Home and Biz app for iOS, Android and Symbian.

Company officials said additional information on the firmware update is available here.
