Your IT - Mobility

Seagate has released a pair of apps to simplify access to GoFlex Home storage units from iOS and Android devices.

Seagate's GoFlex Home is one of a growing number of shared storage devices aimed at homes and small offices. The new GoFlex Access app delivers a fast and easy way to retrieve photos, movies, music and documents from anywhere while on-the-go with network access, company officials claimed.

The free app is available from the iTunes Store and the Android Market, and the iOS version runs on the iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. It provides convenient access to all content stored on a GoFlex Home, supports streaming video over 3G and Wi-Fi, delivers album art for music files, and allows filtering by content type.

GoFlex Home prices start at $169 for 1TB.
