Construction needs cloud flexibility

Australia’s embattled construction sector could benefit from cloud based information systems that can be switched on and off in lockstep with individual projects – with the exception of those organisations based in remote areas like the Kimberleys.

Vodafone opens pre-orders for Samsung's Galaxy S II

Your IT - Mobility

As always, the show must go on, with embattled telco Vodafone Australia opening up pre-orders for Samsung's newest hit smartphone: the Galaxy S II.

Vodafone customers still with Vodafone and looking to upgrade to Samsung's latest and greatest smartphone, the Galaxy S II, can now do so.

The pre-order period lasts until June 9th, which is but a week away, with the caveat that the offer is available 'while stocks last', or 'unless extended'.

Vodafone has been in the news over the past few months for its network issues, something the company has publicly apologised for the publicly committed to resolving as quickly as possible, with network upgrades well underway, although there's undoubtedly still plenty of work to be done.

There are also those Vodafone customers who aren't experiencing the kinds of problems that have been reported - I've come across a few myself who were even unaware of the entire brouhaha.

Anyway, Vodafone is clearly not wallowing in self-pity, but is instead fixing its network and continuing on with the job of launching new handsets, as you'd expect.

So, back to the Galaxy S II - if you pre-order one 'today', or presumably within the current pre-order window, Vodafone says its pre-ordering customers will receive their S II's 'from the end of June'.

Pre-orderers will 'also receive a free Samsung leather case and a $50 bonus bill credit' to sweeten the deal.

Full pricing details are available at the link above, but the short version on plans is $10 per month on Voda's Infinite $45 plan over 24 months (total min cost $1320), $5 per month on the $59 Promo Cap over 24 months (total min cost $1776) and $0 upfront on the Voda $65 Infinite plan over 24 months (total min cost $1560).

Vodafone advises that 3 Mobile customers will be able to access the Samsung Galaxy S II from July.
