Padacs packs more keys and new designs in its iPad 2 keyboard cases

Padacs, an Australian 'iAccessories' company producing a range of accessories for Apple's iDevices, has finally begun shipping its awaited upgrades to its Toccata and Rubata Bluetooth keyboard cases: the Toccata 2 and Rubata 2.

When iDevice accessory-maker Padacs shipped its innovative Bluetooth keyboard cases for the iPad last year, they proved to be very popular ways to both protect your iPad and gain the flexibility of an actual keyboard at the same time.

Now comes the new versions of Padacs' cases - the Toccata with a silicon keyboard, and the Rubata with more regular hard-plastic keys - are now available as version 2.0 models, complete with new keys, some larger keys, slimmer designs and still very attractive pricing.

Padacs' 'Toccata 2 Bluetooth Keyboard Case' containts a 235x135mm QWERTY silicon keyboard that 'is large enough to type on comfortably without adding to the iPad case size', while also delivering the benefit of very, very quiet typing - perfect for meetings, lecture halls or anywhere else you'd like to type without the clickety-clack of regular keys.

As you'd expect, the Toccata 2 has a built-in Lithium battery that can last 'as long as 45 hours' between charges, and is charged up by an included USB cable.

The case has been redesigned to hold Apple's 33% thinner iPad 2, and thus the Toccata 2 case is likewise thinner and sleeker.

New keys include:

- Keyboard controls to adjust the iPad screen brightness
- New keys including a right 'shift' key and a 'Photo Frame' button for the iPad
- A combined 'Backspace' and 'Delete' key

There's also a sturdy side pin connector for charging.
