Optus gets (HTC) Incredible (S) exclusive

Your IT - Mobility

Optus has scored a smartphone exclusive - it will be the only Australian carrier selling the HTC Incredible S.

HTC's Incredible S will be available in Australia only from Optus - at least initially.

The new phone features combined 8MP still and 720p HD video camera, with Wi-Fi b/g/n and DLNA support allowing content to be streamed to a compatible TV or other device.

Other features include Android Gingerbread, HTC's Sense software, 4in (480x800 pixel) touchscreen, a 1.3 MP front camera, a 16GB microSD card, and GPS.

"As the phone continues to move from the ear to the eye, features found on the HTC Incredible S such as high definition video recording and multifunctional cameras are becoming more important for our customers," said Gavin Williams, Optus consumer marketing director.

"When combined with the Optus Open Network we believe our customers will have the perfect combination to get the most out of this great handset," he added.

Pricing will be announced closer to the May 1 shipping date.
