Apple's biggest seller will soon be a white knight, after months of delays and setbacks. The iPhone 4 is set to be relaunched in white within a month, if anonymous sources are to be believed.

The news comes from two people 'close to the company' who declined to be named, but described themselves to Reuters as being close to the company.

They did give some specifics, namely that Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd. would assemble the iPhone out of Taiwan.

They also said that production had now already commenced, meaning that retail shipments should begin within a month.

Apple Senior VP of Marketing Phil Schiller initially announced Twitter post in March that the white iPhone would be available for sale by Spring (meaning Autumn here).

This development doesn't conflict with his statement.

The launch of the new colour has not been without its setbacks. On 24 June 2010, Apple issued a statement that the white iPhone 4 models were proving more "challenging to manufacture" than expected, and pushed the release date back to the second half of July.

It's now April 2011, but hopefully we're finally seeing some movement on the issue, and those with a love of white can sleep well tonight.
