Bookarestaurant.com moves to iPhone

Your IT - Mobility

Restaurant booking site bookarestaurant.com now offers a free iOS app to make it easier to book a table when you're on the move.

The bookarestaurant.com web site is linked to participating restaurants' booking systems, so it has live visibility of available tables. This is possible because it is operated by a division of Analytical Systems, which provides the ResPAK software for restaurants.

The company has released Dining Out, an app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that makes it easier to use the service while out and about.

"This is really the killer application for people who are becoming increasingly time poor. We match your physical location with table availability at nearby restaurants," said Jason Bulger, marketing and communications manager at bookarestaurant.com.

Users can specify cuisine, date, time, and party size, and the app can display maps, photos, menus and special offers. Some restaurants offer discounts of as much as 50% through bookarestaurant.com to attract customers at unpopular times or to fill unbooked tables at the last minute.

"We simplify the restaurant booking process, by listing all the restaurants with available tables, to actually confirming your booking, without having to ring multiple restaurants or waiting for a call back," he added. One-click bookings are available to registered users of bookarestaurant.com

Melbourne CBD restaurants currently predominate, including well known establishments such as Attica, Grossi Florentino, Mirka at Tolarno Hotel, Nobu and Stokehouse.
