The 2011 edition of the Britannica Concise Encyclopedia is now available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.


Britannica Concise Encyclopedia 2011 for iOS devices is now available from the App Store, joining the Android and BlackBerry versions that were released last month.

Over 25,000 articles with 2700 maps and other images are stored in 89MB of memory, so no Internet connection is needed to retrieve information.

the Britannica Concise Encyclopedia 2011 covers art, history, geography, politics, technology, science, sports, pop culture and more. Technical features include 'on this day' information, and the display of a random article by shaking the device.

The app, developed by Paragon Software with content from Encyclopedia Britannica, costs $23.99.
