Join.me goes mobile with you

Your IT - Mobility

Tedious meetings and discussions just got a whole lot more interesting, with Join.me rolling out mobile editions of its screen sharing services.

Designed for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, and available as a free app on the Apple App store, the capabilities extend the same ease, speed and lack of cumbersome registration hurdles from the join.me site to the iOS platform.  An Android version is also in the works, according to to Join.me.

The capabilities were designed by the development team that produced the top grossing 3rd party iPad app of 2010, LogMeIn Ignition.

The new capabilities included in the app let people attend a join.me meeting or screen sharing session through a 3G or wifi connection, by entering a distinct join.me meeting code.

Other features include the ability to view a host's computer desktop (presentations, documents, spreadsheets, images, etc.) from their mobile device, as well as pinch and zoom to focus in on presentation specifics. What good is an Apple app if you can't pinch and zoom? In-app chat seems to be another priority for the company, although one user , 'Scott', commented on the company's forum, "Can we please have the ability to DISABLE CHAT??? Distracting while doing powerpoint and people are talking behind our back'¦"

The app, compatible with iPads, iPhones and iPod touches running iOS 3.2 or higher, is currently a steal at $0.00 and is bound to give users a new motivation to attend meetings, if not physically.
