VHA subsidiary, Crazy John's, has launched new prepaid plans, aimed directly at new player Amaysim which hit the market last month with prepaid services offering 15 cent per minute, without flagfall, on 90 day expiry.
Crazy John's has introduced a new Flatchat prepaid plan that gives customers 1c texts, a flat 10c per minute call rate with a 10c flagfall, international call rates from 1c per minute plus 30 cent flagfall and 3c per MB data
It contrasts these rates with
Optus MVNO Amaysim's 12 cent texts, 15 cents per minute national calls without flagfall, international calls from 15 cents per minute and 5c per MB data (however Amaysim offers data at 1c per MB if users want to pay $10 for 1GB on 30 day expiry).
All Amaysim recharges, except data are on 90 day expiry. Crazy John's expiry periods increase from 30 days with a $15 recharge to 365 days with $95. Customers recharging $35 get 90 day expiry.
Crazy John's has also upgraded its postpaid mobile plans and is offering unlimited free 'on-net' calls and texts on its $29 per month plans and above. Customers can get unlimited free calls to Vodafone and 3 mobiles for an additional fee and these are included on $49 caps and above.
Crazy John's new $49 SIM only Crazy Cap on a 12 month contract offers unlimited national voice calls and text to any network, plus 2GB of data per month. Customers who connect in December also get a $100 EB Games voucher. Customers with a commitment of $39 or higher for capped or shared plans have the option of adding an unlimited talk and text pack for $10 per month.
