VHA has raised the bar in the increasingly price-competitive mobile services market by significantly increasing the amount of data included in its mobile phone cap plans.
The increases have been applied to VHA's consumer and business postpaid plans marketed under both the 3 and Vodafone brands.
The consumer 24 month contract cap plans costing $19, $29, $49, and $79 per month that previously came with, respectively, zero, 50, 500, 750 and 1000 megabytes of data now have 100, 200, 1500, 2000 and 2000 MB.
Also the $59 plan now includes unlimited SMS and MMS, making it identical to the $79 plan. It is a promotional special available to new and existing customers who connect or upgrade to a new 24-month contract between 25 August and 25 November 2010 and is being offered in conjunction with an iPhone 4 or Sony Ericsson X10 for $0 upfront.
Business users get similar upgrades to the single user business caps. Similar increases have also been applied, to the Combo caps which offer, in addition to a phone SIM with included data, a free USB modem with its own SIM and either 1GB or 2GB of data per month. However the modem data quota has not changed.
The $79 and $99 "unlimited" plans that offer unlimited SMS and MMS and unlimited national calls within and between the 3 and Vodafone networks have had their data quotas increased from 1GB to 2GB and from 2GB to 3GB respectively.
Customers taking a SIM only month by month contract get increases from 50MB to 100MB, 250MB from 500MB and 500MB to 1GB on the $20, $35 and $55 caps.
