Telstra turns to MasterChef for Sydney iPhone 4 launch

Your IT - Mobility

25 Telstra Stores are opening at midnight tonight to serve those desperate to lay hands on an iPhone 4. The 400 George Street Sydney store will be attended by some of the MasterChef crew.

The recent MasterChef final attracted the largest ever TV audience for a non-sport program, so the show is clearly part fo the zeitgeist.

Telstra has arranged for judge and co-host Matt Preston to attend its 400 George Street Sydney store this evening as part of the run-up to the iPhone 4 going on sale at midnight.

Preston will be in the store from 10pm, but series 2 participants Marion Grasby, Alvin Quah, Courtney Roulston, Matthew Caldicott, runner-up Callum Hann and winner Adam Liaw will be around from 8pm.

"We've got an action-packed night planned and we can't wait to get the party started. From tasty apple treats prepared by the contestants to high-energy cook-offs, this is one launch party you won’t want to miss," said Telstra consumer executive director, Rebekah O’Flaherty.

Another two dozen Telstra Stores in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania will open at midnight for iPhone 4 sales.
