More delays for white iPhone 4

Your IT - Mobility

Apple has announced a further delay in the production of the white version of the iPhone 4.

Citing continuing manufacturing problems, Apple has warned those waiting for the white version of the iPhone 4 that it will not be available until "later this year."

The announcement has led to speculation that Apple may now be planning to use the white iPhone 4 to deliver a design modification to improve antenna performance. When Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced free cases for iPhone 4 owners as a workaround for the antenna 'weak spot', he said the offer would  run at least until September 30, and "maybe we'll have a better idea".

There has been no suggestion from Apple that the white iPhone 4 will be any different to the black version apart from the colour.

The black iPhone 4 goes on sale in Australia and a number of other countries this Friday, July 30.
