The official BlackBerry app for eBay has been released in Australia and five other countries, and has come out of beta in North America.

The free eBay Application for BlackBerry Smartphones allows users to search, bid, buy and check their eBay buying and selling activity.

Notifications include winning an auction, being outbid, or the imminent ending of listings on the user's watch list.

The app is now available in North America and six additional countries, namely Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.

eBay Daily Deals are visible in the Australia, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom and United States versions, and purchasing via PayPal is available in Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

"We are thrilled to be extending eBay's mobile presence to millions of BlackBerry smartphone users around the globe," said Steve Yankovich, vice president of platform business solutions and mobile at eBay.
