Don't do your data limit on these Optus prepaid plans

Your IT - Mobility

Optus has upgraded its prepaid mobile plans aimed at heavy text users, adding free calls to any other Australian mobile numbers, and unlimited access to Facebook and Twitter and limited data for other purposes, but at $22 per MB users could quickly blow their credit if they exceed the limit.

The Turbo Text prepaid recharges cost $30, $40, $50, $70 or $100 and are valid for 30 days.

With all recharges the full value of the recharge is available to spend on Optus mobile services, and all include a number of 'free' services.

However once the included data quota is reached, data services, other than access to Facebook at Twitter, are charged at $1.32 per 60kB in 60KB increments, or $22 per MB.

The $30 plan offers unlimited SMS and 100 minutes of calls to 10 nominated mobile numbers. The other plans all offer 3000 SMS and 100 minutes to any mobile numbers. The $50 plan comes with 50MB of data, the others with 100MB.

Optus Consumer marketing director, Austin R Bryan, claimed Optus to be "the leading prepaid mobile provider in Australia, saying: "Turbo Text is the third major prepaid offer launched by Optus this year."
