iPad arrives in US on Easter Saturday

Your IT - Mobility

With apologies to David Bowie, "it's a, it's a, it's a iPad in-store Saturday!"

Apple has confirmed that the Wi-Fi only version of the iPad will go on sale at US Apple retail stores and most Best Buy stores this Saturday April 3.

To tempt buyers into its own outlets, Apple is offering a free 'Personal Setup' service to configure email accounts and download software from the App Store. One of those apps is likely to be the iBooks e-book manager/reader, which for some reason is not preinstalled on the iPad.

iPad workshops will also be offered at Apple Stores.

"iPad connects users with their apps and content in a far more intimate and fun way than ever before," said Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

"We can't wait for users to get their hands and fingers on it this weekend," he added.
