Optus gets an exclusive on Motorola Androids with Motoblur personalisation

Your IT - Mobility

Optus is to get exclusive access to Motorola handsets with the new Motoblur user interface that is designed to bring together all the user's social network and contact information onto a single screen.

Motoblur will be available exclusively to Optus customers on 9 April across a range of Motorola Android-based devices, starting with the Motorola Dext and Motorola Backflip.

Motoblur is claimed to be "the first and only mobile experience to deliver your social life straight to your mobile phone, in the one handy stream."

However on cursory examination of what it offers, the HTC Sense interface, launched in November on Windows Mobile handsets, would appear to be striving for similar functionality. HTC Sense is now available on the recently released Desire Android phone.

"With Motoblur, all conversation threads, friend updates, stories, links, photos and more are automatically delivered to live widgets on the home screen so there is no need to open and close different applications or menus."
