Wooden case for iPad

Your IT - Mobility

When your iPad arrives next month, you'll have the option of dressing it in a wooden shell.

From the 'I'm not sure why you'd want one, though it does look nice' department: Vers Audio has announced a wooden case for the iPad.

"Hand-crafted from solid hardwoods & Bamboo" trumpets the company's web site. "Steel reinforced for extra strength".

It might make sense if you're into the wood look and you plan to leave the iPad on a table or mantelpiece when not in use, especially as Vers's case includes a prop to hold the device upright.

The design also features openings for the Dock connector and volume control, a soft lining, and a ultra-violet and moisture resistant finish.

The Vers wood case for iPad will sell for $US79.99.

The company already sells a range of wood cases for iPod and iPhone models, as well as wood encased iPod audio systems.
