Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
If you fancy a BlackBerry but prefer prepaid plans, Boost Mobile is set to offer the Pearl 8120 for $A299 including 12 months BlackBerry Access.
The 8120 features Wi-Fi, a 2MP camera, MP3 player, FM radio and 64M of internal memory.
The included BlackBerry Access provides unlimited POP3 email, instant messaging, and data associated with the BlackBerry Browser or BlackBerry Internet Browser.
Boost Mobile officials describe the deal as "the most affordable pre-paid BlackBerry on the Australian market and a first for the youth market."
There's no indication of the charge for BlackBerry Access after the initial 12 months, or the price of the BlackBerry SuperCap required to qualify for unlimited BlackBerry Access.
Boost Mobile's normal SuperCaps range from $25 to $70 with 30 days expiry, and involve charges of 89c per minute with a 35c flagfall for voice and 29c per SMS (25c to Boost or Optus Prepaid mobiles). The company has warned that prepaid rate changes will take effect from December 16.
Boost's BlackBerry Pearl 8120 will be available in early December.
