Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
If you want a vaguely iPhone-like handset but can't bring yourself to buy an Apple product, Telstra's touting the LG KM900f Arena as the newest multimedia addition to its Next G range.
With iPhone-y styling and a touchscreen, the LG KM900f Arena boasts a long list of features including 8G of storage, a 5MP camera (with 30fps video recording), Dolby digital sound, a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio, FM transmitter, voice recording, DivX and XviD playback, and accelerometer.
Pretty much the kitchen sink, no?
It's also set up to use a bunch of Telstra-related services, including Yellow Pages, 1234, Whereis and Foxtel.
Unlike the iPhone - even the new iPhone 3G S - the KM900f Arena handles video calling. (Is it just that video calling is a minority interest in the US, or does Apple have a problem with the whole idea?)
How much? $A829 on postpaid plans.
Oh, and one sign of iPhone envy can be seen in the way the publicity photo of the Arena has an Apple-style vertical reflection.
