Nokia N97 here this month!

Your IT - Mobility

The much anticipated Nokia N97 will go on sale this month (June 2009), but some features won't arrive until later in the year.

Announced in December 2008, the N97 was (yawn) described by some as an 'iPhone killer' - but that tag seems mandatory for any fancy smartphone.

Notable features include the tilting touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard, a 5MP camera, and access to Ovi services such as the Ovi Store that opened last week.

Ovi Store provides access to widgets (eg, for Facebook [yawn again], news services and other information) as well as content and applications.

If you want music, the Nokia Music Store will oblige. That's the service that lets you purchase songs and then use them on your Nokia phone and on a PC with Windows Media Player 11.

There's 32G or storage, expandable to 48G with a microSD card, so there will be plenty of space for your tunes.

Talking of music, Nokia has just released a stereo Bluetooth headset that'll work with the N97 for listening to music or making calls.
