Amazon optimizes Kindle store for iPhone

Your IT - Mobility

There's a new Kindle store specially designed to work with the Kindle iPhone app.

According to Amazon, the new store is tailored for the size and shape of the iPhone.

The Kindle for iPhone app came out in March and enables iPhone owners to shop for and buy books and read them on their phones.

It also provides access from the iPhone to a user's previous purchases and synchronizes their bookmarks between the iPhone (or iPod Touch) and the Kindle.

“The response to Kindle for iPhone has been tremendous,” said Kindle VP Ian Freed. “The most common feedback we heard from customers was that they wanted a better experience for purchasing new Kindle books from their iPhones."

When users choose Get Books from within the Kindle for iPhone app, the iPhone's Safari browser will automatically take them to the reconfigured store.
