Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
U.S. president Barack Obama, meeting the Queen of England for the first time, presented her with a new iPod preloaded with a selection of photos and video.
The queen reportedly already has two iPods: a 6 GB silver mini she chose herself in 2005, and another one she received as a gift from her grandson Prince William in 2006. It's not known which model the prince selected.
It's also not known which model the president chose. But the real gift is the content already on the iPod. It is said to include photos and video from the queen's 2007 visit to the U.S., including her trip to Jamestown, Virginia, the site of the first permanent English settlement in America.
The iPod also contains audio of then-state senator Obama's speech to the 2004 Democratic Convention and of his presidential inauguration address. More likely to get airplay, probably, are the 40 songs from Broadway musicals also on the device, including "Maria" and "Tonight" from West Side Story, "Cabaret," and "Aquarius" from Hair.
President Obama also presented the queen with a rare book of sheet music by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart. The queen gave the president a signed, silver-framed photo of herself and her husband, Prince Philip -- reportedly the standard gift to Buckingham Palace visitors.
