Net Applications collects data from an unspecified number of web sites, but they are said to represent almost all countries and reflect 160 million visitors per month.
Its mobile figures for February show the iPhone on 66 percent, though that appears to include iPod touch usage - something AdMob excludes from its report.
On the other hand, it doesn't include application use in the way that AdMob's figures do.
No other platform takes more than 10 percent on Net Applications' figures.
The company also recorded strong growth in iPhone usage 0.48 percent of the overall (ie, computer and mobile) 'market', compared with 0.30 percent last August. (Net Applications' mobile-specific data series started in January 2009.)
Whichever way you look at it, the iPhone has had - and is continuing to have - a huge impact on the smartphone market.
There is one cloud on the horizon for Apple: Net Applications has observed that the initial growth rate for Android very closely mirrors that of the iPhone.
