Recycling? Wassat? Say numpty UK mobile phone users

Your IT - Mobility

In London, Nokia UK Managing Director, Simon Ainslie said that it would be inviting mobile phone users to recycle handsets at its flagship Regents Street store. "Having seen the results of our global survey, we wanted to help the UK public do even more when it comes to recycling mobile phones. From today, anyone can come along to our London store and hand in their old handsets, whatever the make, and we’ll recycle it for them."

Nokia has collection points for unwanted mobile devices in 85 countries around the world, the largest voluntary scheme in the mobile industry. People can find their nearest take back point at the werecyle website.

Alternatively, a quick Google will reveal numerous options for recycling handsets. Many charities offer this service, and even major supermarkets will supply recycling bags and some have incentives such as 'loyalty points' and money off vouchers for every phone recycled in this way.
