Police: Apple Store employees stole hundreds of iPhones

Your IT - Mobility

A pair of Apple Store employees have been charged with stealing over 300 iPhones.

According to the Massachusetts-based Eagle-Tribune, Joshua Garrand and Christopher Nashed stole 332 iPhones worth over $US130,000 from the Apple Store at the Rockingham Park Mall.

While we don't know the period over which the thefts occurred, that averages out at around one a day since the iPhone was launched. Salem police began investigating in early January after being called in by store
management.

We're reminded of Johnny Cash's One Piece at a Time - the story of an Cadillac assembly line worker who sneaks out of the factory one piece of a car every day by hiding it in his lunch box. It wouldn't be too hard to conceal an iPhone even if it was complete with packaging.

Or perhaps an opportunity arose to disappear with an entire delivery in one swoop.

Maybe we'll find out when the duo face court.
