Orange gets iPhone in France

Your IT - Mobility

France Telecom's Orange mobile network has - as predicted - been selected as Apple's iPhone partner in France.

According to agency reports (AP, AFP, Reuters), the announcement was made by France Telecom CEO Didier Lombard at a telecommunications conference in Hanoi.

The iPhone will go on sale in France during late November, just in time for the busy Christmas buying season.

No indications of price or service plans have been given at this stage, but O2's ₤269 and T-Mobile's €399 iPhone prices are both significantly higher than the $US399 tag applying in the United States, even when taxes are factored in.
