New update for iPhone

Your IT - Mobility

iPhone Update 1.0.2 is available for download from Apple, but don't get too excited - the company says it is merely a bug fix release.

As with previous updates, a few users are claiming to see performance improvements in various areas (eg, greater volume), but it seems likely that these are due either to some sort of placebo affect (on the user, not the phone) or to resetting the iPhone rather than actual changes to the code.

As expected, the update process will remove any unofficial changes, restoring the iPhone to the state its maker intended. That said, it seems the well-publicised hacks can be reapplied after the update, allowing the installation of non-standard software.

iPhone updates are applied by connecting the device to a computer running iTunes. The software performs an automatic weekly check for updates, but they can also be initiated manually.
