Vodafone to get Euro iPhone?

A report by a Dutch publication has renewed speculation that Vodafone is the front runner to become Apple's European iPhone partner.

According to Bright, sources within Vodafone say the two companies are talking, but the sticking points are that Apple wants a guaranteed minimum volume, while Vodafone wants the freedom to subsidise the purchase price.

This isn't the first time that Vodafone has been tipped to get the iPhone in Europe. American Technology Research and Credit Suisse are among the analysts giving the carrier the nod.

But not everyone is of the same mind. Shiny Shiny ('A girl's guide to gadgets') claims "Someone Important at Vodafone" said "nah, it's not coming up on my spreadsheet any time soon". Well, that's about as convincing as Bright's anonymous sources...
