Monster Patch Tuesday ahead

Home IT

Microsoft has revealed it will release a torrent of updates on 13 February 2007, so we suggest administrators don't leave their Valentine's Day arrangements until the last minute.

This month's Patch Tuesday will feature 23 bulletins and updates, including several with the maximum rating of "critical" as well as some non-security but high-priority items.

Critical updates will be delivered for Windows, Office, Microsoft Data Access Components and for Microsoft's security-related products such as Windows Live OneCare.

Less serious updates will appear for Visual Studio and Step-by-Step Interactive Training.

As expected each month, an updated version of the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool will be released.

In line with Microsoft's usual practice, no clues are given about the nature of the non-security updates. A previous example was the Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications update.
