Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Online video rental company, Reeltime, is to make its titles available in three formats: standard, a high quality format for customers with large screens (HQTV)and a personal format at lower quality for those who want to watch them on a small personal device.
ReelTime says it will be adopting the three formats as standard for new release download-to-rent titles progressively, and will make some of its library titles available in the new formats.
"Our HQTV service has been encoded at a much higher rate, and is now suitable for large screen displays such as home cinema, plasma and LCD. The service also now offers Dolby 5.1 compatibility, to allow our customers to take full advantage of their home entertainment systems," said ReelTime managing director, John Karantzis.
He added: "Our standard service, which has been available since launch, will now be progressively enhanced to offer compatibility with Dolby 5.1 systems – offering our customers a better experience on their standard TV's or larger screen PC's – depending upon their choice of display device."
For ReelTime's customers that prefer to view on a personal device, operating Windows Media Player 11 (such as PCs/Playforsure WM11 devices), ReelTime has created a 'personal' format for faster download.
The new format has been optimised to suit a variety of PC devices and screen sizes, gaining popularity in today's personal computing market. Further details on system requirements and recommended computing devices can be found at ReelTime's website or Microsoft Corporation sites.
