Skype president returns to eBay

Skype’s president, Alex Kazim, will leave the company in January to return to eBay.

Kazim, an eight-year eBay veteran, joined Skype immediately following eBay’s acquisition of the company 14 months ago and has been responsible for product development and innovation at Skype. He reported to Niklas Zennström, Skype’s CEO. At eBay he will work on major strategic projects for the company and will report to Meg Whitman, eBay’s president and CEO.

During his tenure at Skype "Kazim played a central role in accelerating the company’s product and engineering infrastructure," the company said. “Alex has helped me and Skype’s executive team take the company to the next level,” said Zennström. “Without Alex, Skype would not be as far along as it is today. I’m sorry to see him head home, but look forward to continuing to work with him in his new role with Meg.”
