Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Spin says that, following "a hugely successful launch in Canberra," it is extending the offer to other Australian cities, starting with the Gold Coast. According to the company's marketing manager, Bill McArthur, “The exceptional response from the residents of Canberra shows there is a need for this type of service"
Spin is offering an iBurst USB modem for $259.95 and charging a $149.95 set up fee. Once these are paid, customers can download up to 200Mbytes per month at no additional charge. After that they pay 22 cents per Mbyte, or $220 per Gbyte, which is more than twice the cost of 1Gybte iBurst plans from other providers.
And how do they know when they've exceeded their free quote and the meter has started ticking? McArthur told iTWire: " We stress to all users to check our 'user services' section where you can check your usage on our website."
