Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Microsoft has released its long awaited catchup browser Internet Explorer 7 for public download and intends to push it out to Windows XP users as a high priority update through its Automatic Updates online distribution system in November.
The newly released IE7 includes many of the
catchup features that have long been available on competing Windows
browsers Firefox and Opera, including a search box in the toolbar and
tabbed browsing.
Microsoft is also touting the purported enhanced security of IE7, which was a much discussed deficiency in its predecessor
"We listened carefully to our customers and are delivering a safer
browser that makes the tasks they do every day much easier," said Dean
Hachamovitch, general manager of the Internet Explorer team at
Microsoft.
Like Firefox 2.0, which has not yet reached final release stage, IE7
includes anti-phishing functions that warn visitors before they visit a
suspicious website.
A handy feature in IE7 that's not present in Firefox is the ability to
print a whole web page in portrait or landscape format, automatically
resizing the text to fit.
