H&R Block officials say the company's do-it-yourself tax preparation service works with Macs and iPads even though the ATO's E-Tax system is still Windows-only.
“Apple users can access the online software which guides you step by step through the tax return process," said Frank Brass, regional director H&R Block.
"Based on your upfront answers, the adaptive program requires you to complete only the sections that you have indicated are relevant to your tax situation.

The finished return is checked by the company before being lodged with the ATO.
"Nothing can completely take the place of a trusted tax accountant," added Mr Brass.
The service costs $49.
