In what it claims is a a first for a major national real estate website, domain.com.au has launched Domain Maps – Beta Version, using Google Maps technology, which the Fairfax owned site believes signals the future of online property seeking.
Domain Maps can be accessed by conducting a property search at www.domain.com.au.
The incorporation of Google Maps into the new-look domain.com.au gives
property seekers the choice to view search results via either a list or
interactive map format, depending on their preference. Property
inspection treks can be planned through the plotting of relevant
properties on a detailed map of the area in which properties appear.
Users can choose to view maps via a close-up street view or a
helicopter-style satellite view.
“Domain Maps gives our users what they want: detailed mapping
functionality to make the search process easier,” said Sam Plowman,
general manager of domain.com.au. “With Google Maps, domain.com.au is
now the first major national online property site in Australia with the
best online mapping feature.
“We’ve launched in beta so we can continue to develop Domain Maps as
our users embrace and work with the feature. We will incorporate user
feedback to make our new maps as useful as possible. This is the next
step in an aggressive domain.com.au product innovation push, coming
just three weeks after the successful re-launch of the Domain site.”
