There once was a time when viewers had to go to the cinema to see movies on high quality big screens. This is no longer the case thanks to Samsung Electronics and its new 70 inch LCD monster.
The new LCD screen has HD-TV definition of 1,920 by 1,080
resolution, a 180 degrees viewing angle and is believed to be the
largest LCD TV ever produced beating the previous mark of 65 inches.
The new LCD monolith is expected to go on sale in the first half of
2007 but it will not be cheap, costing about the price of a small car.
Somewhere about the US$10,000 mark should be a reasonable expectation. which sort of makes a mockery of the contention that this is a consumer product. Most consumers will not have the money nor the room in there houses for this beast, although the drawcard of a big screen at home is tempting.
