Amazon move to video downloads a long overdue rumour

Your IT - Home IT

Amazon is a great place to buy books online. It was once also a great place to buy music and videos online. Unfortunately, a failure to recognize the new paradigm of music downloads lost Amazon its prize position in that space. If the information published on a web developer's blog is correct, Amazon is doing its best not to miss out on the video downloads wave.

The web developer, Alan Taylor, who has worked for amazon.com in the past, has published what appear to be screen shots of a prototype Amazon video download store. If the material is genuine, then users would be able to buy or rent movie downloads as well TV shows.

Taylor says on his blog site kokogiak.com: "It seems Amazon might soon be launching their digital video download store, called "Amazon Unbox Video"."

Well if the information supplied on Taylor's site turns out to be a hoax, the perpertrator has a flair for marketing. Amazon Unbox Video is pretty good name.
