MyNetFone doubles call quotas

MyNetFone is boosting the number of calls included in its residential VoIP plans.

MtNetFone has doubled the number of calls included in its residential VoIP plans. This starts with the $9.95 per month MegaSaver now includes 200 local or national untimed calls.

MegaSaver Premium ($19.95 per month) now includes 200 local or national untimed calls plus 100 minutes to mobiles, GlobalSaver ($14.95) offers 100 untimed local, national and international (to 30 countries) calls, while the $24.95 per month GlobalSaver Premium extends that to 70 countries. MegaSaver and MegaSaver Premium are also available as yearly plans which give 12 months service for the price of 10.

Existing customers will receive the enlarged quotas from the start of their next billing cycle.

"We want our customers to be able to pick up the phone and call their friends and family whenever they want without having to worry about organising a time to chat or being slapped with a huge bill at the end of the day," said MyNetFone technical director, Rene Sugo.

For those who make a smaller number of calls, MyNetFone also offers the SuperSaver plan with no monthly fee and local and national calls charged at 12.5c untimed. Calls to mobiles cost 24c per minute, and international call start at 1.9c per minute.

MyNetFone officials indicated that the plan changes were introduced to get ahead of competitive offers from other providers as the NBN rollout proceeds.
