Users of FileMaker's Bento database have downloaded a million templates.

Bento, the personal database for Mac, iPad and iPhone from Apple subsidiary FileMaker, has established a significant user community. More than 1000 templates are available from the Bento Template Exchange, with most of them created by users.

Those templates cover a diverse range of small business and personal applications from project management to coin collections. Total downloads since the Exchange opened a little over two years ago have now exceeded one million.

Although templates have been submitted by many users, the top five downloads - Contact & Customer Manager, Project Manager, The Bento Event Planner, Family Organizer, and Student Survival Kit - are all from FileMaker.

"We're blown away by the popularity of The Bento Template Exchange," said Ryan Rosenberg, VP of marketing and services at FileMaker. "You can find a thousand great ideas to be more productive using Bento."
