Construction needs cloud flexibility

Australia’s embattled construction sector could benefit from cloud based information systems that can be switched on and off in lockstep with individual projects – with the exception of those organisations based in remote areas like the Kimberleys.

Kogan offers free shipping post -$46k+ whoopsie

Your IT - Home IT

Oops: It's been a day of expensive humble pie for Ruslan Kogan as he decides to honour hundreds of massively discounted orders made thanks to a 'web bug', but in an additional gesture of goodwill is making free shipping available until midnight.

As noted in our previous article, Ruslan Kogan has not only decided to honour hundreds of sales made thanks to a massive discount 'bug' publicised at OzBargain, but he has also decided not to make any further comment to the media in what is an unusual role reversal.

However, despite the fact that more than 500 orders were made for Kogan's $39 set-top-box with PVR alone, and plenty more products snapped up besides during the 80+ min incident, resulting in a total loss of over $46,000'¦ Kogan has decided to offer free shipping until midnight.

This was disclosed earlier in a Tweet
that shows Kogan knows how to get some good publicity and customer goodwill through an error that Kogan will presumably want to ensure is never, ever repeated.

Given the fact Ruslan Kogan has said Aussie retailers were 'Apple's bitch' in the past, and wore a t-shirt declaring he was 'EV's bitch' in reference to a bet he lost with a staff member called EV, short for Evgency, I can only wonder if the web person or people responsible at Kogan might be wearing 'I'm Kogan's $46k+ bitch' t-shirts right now or whether enough money had already been wasted for the day to bother with such silly office fun.

We can only wonder what new deals or specials might come in celebration of the strangest Kogan episode yet. Perhaps a deal of a 46-inch TV, or a competition to find 46 cool new product categories that Kogan could consider adding to his burgeoning repertoire of technologies.

Either way, today's episode was yet another of life's little challenges and lessons, and by the way Kogan's handled things, you'd have to say he's done it the right way.
